Azure DevOps integration

What Azure DevOps is

Azure DevOps is Microsoft's platform for source control, CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, and project tracking — commonly used by enterprise clients whose wider engineering estate runs on the Microsoft stack and who want Shopify development to live inside their existing DevOps governance.

How we integrate Azure DevOps with Shopify

Ecom Majesty uses Azure Pipelines to build and deploy Shopify theme and app code within a client's existing Azure DevOps organisation. The pipeline is configured to run theme checks and linting on pull requests, deploy to a Shopify development store on branch merge, and promote to production via a gated release stage that requires manual approval. Shopify CLI commands (theme push, app deploy) are wrapped as pipeline tasks, secrets such as store credentials and API keys are stored in Azure Key Vault and injected at runtime, and the Repos workspace is structured to match Ecom Majesty's standard branch strategy. Where the client already has Azure DevOps boards, Ecom Majesty links work items to commits to maintain traceability.

What the work involves

  • Azure Pipelines configured to run theme checks and linting on pull requests within the client's existing organisation.
  • Deploys to a Shopify development store on branch merge, promoting to production via a gated, manually-approved release.
  • Shopify CLI commands (theme push, app deploy) wrapped as pipeline tasks, with credentials held in Azure Key Vault.
  • Work items linked to commits where Azure Boards is already in use, for traceability.

Can Ecom Majesty deliver it?

Yes — Azure DevOps is within our Shopify engineering scope; we scope the exact integration against your stack.
