Contentful integration
- CMS
What Contentful is
Contentful is an API-first headless CMS that stores content as structured, reusable entries — pages, articles, product descriptions, banners — and delivers them through REST or GraphQL APIs to any frontend. It sits between a brand's editorial workflow and its digital channels, keeping content independent from the presentation layer.
How we integrate Contentful with Shopify
There is no single official Contentful–Shopify app; the connection is built via API. Ecom Majesty maps Contentful's content model to the data Shopify needs — product descriptions, landing-page copy, campaign assets — and writes the fetch layer in the frontend (Hydrogen, Next.js, or a custom Storefront API build) that pulls entries from Contentful's Delivery API and renders them alongside Shopify product and pricing data. Webhooks from Contentful trigger cache invalidations or redeployments so editorial publishes reach the storefront quickly. Role-based access and environment drafts in Contentful let the content team work without touching the Shopify theme.
What the work involves
- Contentful content model mapped to what Shopify needs — product copy, landing pages, campaign assets — over an API-built connection.
- Fetch layer written in the frontend (Hydrogen, Next.js or a Storefront API build) to render entries alongside Shopify product and pricing data.
- Webhooks wired to trigger cache invalidations or redeploys so editorial publishes reach the storefront quickly.
