Datadog UX Monitoring integration
- UX Monitoring
What Datadog UX Monitoring is
Datadog UX Monitoring (also called Real User Monitoring or RUM) captures genuine user sessions on web and mobile — page load times, frontend errors, resource timing, and interaction traces — and correlates them with backend APM data in the same Datadog workspace. It gives teams a single view across the frontend experience and the infrastructure powering it.
How we integrate Datadog UX Monitoring with Shopify
Datadog RUM is deployed via a JavaScript browser SDK added to the Shopify theme or headless frontend. Ecom Majesty handles the setup: inserting the SDK initialisation code with the correct application ID and client token, configuring session sampling rates, and mapping Shopify's page types (product, collection, cart, checkout) to meaningful RUM view names so performance data is filterable by page context. For headless builds, the SDK is initialised in the application shell. No App Store app exists; it is a script-level integration.
What the work involves
- Datadog RUM browser SDK added to the theme or headless frontend with the correct application ID and client token.
- Session sampling rates configured for a sensible cost-and-signal balance.
- Shopify page types (product, collection, cart, checkout) mapped to meaningful RUM view names so data is filterable by context.
Can Ecom Majesty deliver it?
